Your solar, battery, and generator — finally working together

We add a Sol-Ark inverter to connect what you already have into one smart system. Your generator runs hours instead of days. Your solar works when the grid is down. Your battery pays for itself.

Three things Cape Cod homeowners learn the hard way

Your generator runs 24/7 and burns through fuel

During the last multi-day outage, you realized a generator is only as good as your fuel supply. It runs non-stop, it's loud, and you're making fuel runs while the roads are a mess.

✓ With a battery, your generator runs just 2-3 hours a day. Fuel lasts days, not hours. Quiet the rest of the time.
☀️

Your solar panels shut off when the power goes out

You spent thousands on solar, but the moment the grid goes down, your panels stop producing. By law, they have to. So the one time you really need them, they do nothing.

✓ A Sol-Ark inverter safely disconnects from the grid and keeps your solar running for your home.
💰

You're paying Eversource more every year with no end in sight

Rates went up again. They'll go up next year too. Your solar helps in summer, but you're still writing big checks in winter, and there's no protection against what comes next.

✓ A battery earns $275/kW per year through Connected Solutions and offsets peak usage. It pays for itself in ~2.5 years.

Here's what we actually do

We add the "brains" to your existing setup. A Sol-Ark hybrid inverter connects your solar, battery, and generator into one system that manages itself.

1

We look at what you have

Solar panels? Generator? Both? Neither? We start from where you are, not where a salesperson wants you to be.

2

We design your system

You get a custom layout with exact components, pricing, and what you'll save. No mystery. No hidden costs.

3

Licensed electricians install it

Our partner, Osprey Electrical, handles all the wiring and permits. Usually done in 1-2 days.

4

Your home runs smarter

The system manages power automatically. Solar charges your battery, battery runs your home, generator kicks in only when truly needed.

Safety

Zero thermal events. Zero recalls. Zero fires.

🔋 EG4 LFP Batteries

We use lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries — the safest chemistry available. LFP cells don't experience thermal runaway the way lithium NMC batteries do.

✓ Zero recalls, zero fires reported
✓ UL 9540A certified (thermal runaway test)
✓ Dual fire arrestors + fire suppression built in
✓ 10-year warranty
⚡ Sol-Ark Inverters

Sol-Ark has zero CPSC recalls and zero reported fire incidents. Their inverters are UL 1741 SA listed and designed for safe operation in grid-tied and off-grid modes.

✓ Zero recalls, zero fires reported
✓ UL 1741 SA & IEEE 1547 compliant
✓ Built-in rapid shutdown (NEC 2020)
✓ 10-year warranty

Why this matters: Tesla recalled 10,500 Powerwall 2 units in 2025 for fire risk. LG Chem recalled 10,000+ home batteries — twice — for the same. Both use NMC chemistry. We chose LFP specifically because it eliminates this risk.

This isn't about technology. It's about a better experience.

🔈

Quiet nights during outages

Your battery silently powers your home while the neighbors' generators roar all night. When the battery needs a top-up, the generator runs for a couple hours, then shuts off again.

Fuel that actually lasts

In a multi-day outage, a standalone generator burns through a full tank in 8-12 hours running non-stop. With a battery doing the heavy lifting, that same tank lasts 3-4 days.

💰

A battery that earns money

Connected Solutions pays you $275 per kW per year for 5 years just for having a battery. A single-battery system earns ~$1,375/year. Two batteries earn ~$2,750/year. Plus 0% financing through Mass Save covers most of the battery cost.

☀️

Solar that works in a blackout

Right now, your solar panels shut off when the grid goes down. With a Sol-Ark inverter, they keep producing and charge your battery. The system you paid for finally works when you need it most.

📈

Protection from rate increases

Eversource rates go up every year. Once your system is installed, a big chunk of your electricity comes from your own roof, stored in your own battery. That price never goes up.

📱

See everything on your phone

The Sol-Ark app shows you exactly what's happening — what your solar is producing, what your battery is holding, what your home is using. Real-time, from anywhere.

Generator alone vs. a connected system

How our pricing works

We're not a traditional contractor that marks everything up 40-50%. Here's the deal: you get a Sol-Ark inverter at dealer pricing through us (that's where we earn on equipment). Batteries, generators, panels — all at the price we pay, passed through to you. Installation is done by Osprey Electrical at their rates. We design the system and manage the project. You can verify every line item. We think that's how it should work.

*Residential homeowners lost the 30% federal tax credit (Section 25D) as of Jan 1, 2026. However, if adding new solar, a lease or PPA structure lets a financing company claim the 48E credit and pass savings to you as lower payments. Commercial properties get the best deal: 30% ITC + 100% bonus depreciation can cut effective cost by 40-55%. Contact us for commercial pricing. All rates confirmed at time of proposal.

Things people ask us

Federal safety rules require your solar inverter to shut off during a grid outage so utility workers don't get shocked by power flowing back into the lines. A Sol-Ark hybrid inverter can safely disconnect from the grid and keep your solar running just for your home. It's the same panels — just a smarter inverter managing them.
Two reasons. First, a battery handles 95% of outages — the brief ones that happen a few times a year — silently and instantly, with no fuel burned. Second, during multi-day outages, the battery carries your house most of the day. Your generator only runs a few hours to recharge the battery, then shuts off. That means no generator noise all day and night, and your fuel supply lasts 3-4x longer than running a generator alone.
Connected Solutions is a demand response program administered by Cape Light Compact (your local power supply aggregator) and Eversource. It pays you for having a battery. During peak demand days (usually hot summer afternoons), your battery discharges a little energy to help reduce grid strain. You earn $275 per kW per year for 5 years. A single-battery system (5 kW) earns ~$1,375/year. Two batteries earn ~$2,750/year. Three earn ~$4,125/year. That revenue, combined with the $500 Eversource rebate and 0% HEAT Loan financing, means the battery portion of your system typically pays for itself in ~2.5 years.
Yes, with one exception. You can order EG4 batteries, generators, and panels directly from the manufacturer. The Sol-Ark inverter is the one thing you'd want to get through us — as an authorized dealer, we get it at a lower price than retail, and we pass that savings to you while earning a fair margin on it. We'll give you the full component list and prices either way, so you can see exactly what everything costs.
Typically 1-2 days of on-site work by Osprey Electrical, our licensed installation partner. If you're adding to an existing solar system (the most common scenario), it's usually a single day. Permitting takes a few weeks beforehand, but we handle all of that.
Yes. The Mass Save HEAT Loan provides 0% interest financing up to $25,000 for battery storage systems, with a term up to 7 years. Cape Cod 5 is a participating lender. Your battery must be enrolled in Connected Solutions to qualify. For a typical system, the monthly HEAT Loan payment is often less than what Connected Solutions pays you — meaning the battery can be cash-flow positive from day one.
