Recommended: 24 hours of battery-only autonomy means your system handles 95% of all power outages on battery alone. During storms, limited solar extends this further. Generator is insurance for extended nor'easters when clouds persist for days.
Portable is the default, store it in the garage, roll out when needed. Standby is permanent with auto-start and runs on natural gas or propane.
